A “CONTENT BRIEF” IS TYPICALLY A LONG DOCUMENT THAT HELPS GUIDE A WRITER AS THEY CREATE. THIS, HOWEVER, IS ONE ACTIONABLE TIP AT A TIME—IN BRIEF—TO HELP YOU GO FROM FRAZZLED CONTENT CREATOR TO CONFIDENT CONVERSATION LEADER. ⚡️ JOIN THE CLUB.
⏪ Last time, the Monthly Edit guided session for December 2024. That’s here.
⏩ Today, the start of our all-new content clarity journey. ✨
I dropped off all three of my precious little endless-energy-tornadoes at daycare/real school this morning for the first time in ~14 days.
Will I survive five hours of silence? Will I burn through all my emotional support coffee to cope with the exhaustion? Do I remember the login to anything?
Hard to say.
Stay tuned.
All I know is I’ve not worked in what feels like three months.
BUT I’M BACK, BAY BAY. 😎
Thus, 2025—and an all-new season of The Content Brief—can commence. ⚡️
And while you’ll typically hear from me on Wednesdays, there’s no time like the present in this first week of the year, so here we go…
Do you have a lot of content ideas but feel like they’re all over the place? Like you have plenty to share but can’t quite find a way to make it cohesive?
Or how about that feeling when you sit down to "create content" and your mind goes blank? Everything suddenly feels forced and you're wondering if anyone else actually has anything at all figured out?
Or if you should even bother?
Yep, been there. 🙋♀️
But good news: We're starting a journey to change that for you forever.
Over the next year, I'm taking you on a virtual roadtrip (private jet?) through The Content Creator's Roadmap—eight steps to meaningful content without the burnout. Each quarter, we'll deep dive into two of the steps, with actionable strategies you can implement weekly in 15 minutes or less.
And in this first quarter of 2025, we're starting with the foundation: Clarity and Conviction.
So, welcome to Step 1: CLARITY. 🎉
Ready for the so-called secret to having endless content ideas while staying perfectly focused?
It’s all about understanding your themes.
COMING THIS MONTH
We’re covering what it means (and how) to find content clarity all month, including the surprising patterns in your content and what they reveal, a template for finding your focus, and methods for turning your clarity into action.

Theme Mapping is a simple practice that changed how I create.
Think of it like being a detective in your own work. Instead of "what should I create?" you start with "what am I already naturally talking about?"
The first step is to open a fresh note and list every topic you've posted about in the last three months. Don't judge, just list.
Make it easy:
Check your published posts archive
Scan your notes and other socials
Review any product descriptions
Remember recent conversations
As you do, keep these questions in the back of your mind:
What problems do you keep solving?
What advice do you naturally give?
What topics make you lose track of time?
What questions do people always ask you?
When I did this, I noticed a few things that kept coming up:
Conversations about feeling overwhelmed by content
Discussions about finding your voice
Questions about sustainable systems
The deeper theme? Helping creators lead meaningful conversations without burnout.
Now instead of random content, everything flows from these core themes. ⚡️
So make your list. We’ll be digging into noticing the patterns next week. For now, see what naturally comes up.
💬 What's one conversation you keep having about your work? Drop ONE topic below that you find yourself discussing again and again.
BONUS: Share a link to a piece of content that felt completely natural to create.
I have a lot in store for us on this journey and I hope you love it.
I can’t wait!
Rooting for you,
xx Christin

Two things really, one is relating to whether things are unhealthy and the second one is about people's skill level in baking, the way I explain things sometimes makes it seem like it's just for people who are great at baking already when it's more about getting good instructions and trying new things. I also try and include more and less complicated recipes🙂. I try and mention the second one in things and just wrote this about the first topic https://sarahfrison.substack.com/p/what-do-you-do-on-a-sunday-afternoon.
this is exactly the type of thing i’ve been looking to do for myself! toward the end of last year i stopped trying to quiet my natural coverage and interest in music related topics. it’s just who i am and it resonates with the audience i have started to build. at the top most level, its themes like understanding each other thru art and openness thru art that i hope my perspective can swing from (via sharing music, low to medium brow streaming series, books, articles etc). thanks for these focus questions, christin!
