A “CONTENT BRIEF” IS TYPICALLY A LONG DOCUMENT THAT HELPS GUIDE A WRITER AS THEY CREATE. THIS, HOWEVER, IS ONE ACTIONABLE TIP AT A TIME—IN BRIEF—TO HELP YOU GO FROM FRAZZLED CONTENT CREATOR TO CONFIDENT CONVERSATION LEADER. ⚡️ JOIN THE CLUB.
⏪ Last time, the start of our all-new 2025 content clarity journey. That’s here.
⏩ Today, moving from scattered topics to your conversation territory.
Welcome back to your own inbox, friend! ✨
It’s the first “real” week of the new year, so I’m channeling all that fresh start energy to my planner stack for 2025, naturally.
I revamped my ~situation~ this year as I love a good mix of analog and digital tools. Here’s what I’m using:
Google Calendar to manage my calendar, duh.
Notion (and my Briefing Room template) for project and content management.
I’m actually screaming internally to make this template live and available to you. Get your name on the waitlist here.
The Year Task Planner from Appointed to get my tasks off my screen and in front of my face, sitting beside me each workday. I also snapped up the brass page tags (btw, this link gets you 10% off).
Caran d’Ache pen, always.
Of course, all of these work in blissful coordination. Care to know more? Let me know!
Maybe it’s the January vibes and the potential bluff that a fresh, pristine calendar gives us, but … so far, all is calm, all is bright. ~
2025, let’s go! 🥳
Last week, you made your content brain dump (high five if you did it!). Today, let's find the hidden gold in that list—because what looks like scattered topics might actually be breadcrumbs leading to your true conversation territory.
Grab your topic list and three different colored highlighters (or markers, pens, whatever you have). We're going treasure hunting:
Color #1: Circle topics that make you lose track of time when talking about them.
Color #2: Star topics your audience engages with most.
Color #3: Highlight topics where you have unique experience.
Now here's the magic—look for where the colors overlap. That's your sweet spot!
Sometimes the patterns are surprising. For example:
Say you're posting about design tools, but your highest engagement comes from posts about building creative confidence.
Or you're writing about business strategy, but your audience lights up when you share your behind-the-scenes systems.
Maybe you're creating "how-to" content, but your best conversations happen around the "why" and "what if."
I used to share in that how to realm because that seemed like what I should talk about given my experience. But when I looked closer, my highest-energy topics and most engaged posts were not just how to do XYZ content task but about helping creators lead meaningful conversations without burnout and with more personality.
That clarity changed things. ⚡️
💬 Drop a 🔍 and fill in this statement: "I notice one of my sweet spots is when I talk about..."
Let's celebrate these moments of clarity together!
Next week: We’ll get into choosing your focus.
Rooting for you,
xx Christin
