That scattered feeling of either drowning in content ideas or drawing a complete blank?
It's not just about finding something to say—it's about finding the right conversations to lead.
Think of it like cleaning out your closet—we're going to identify what naturally fits you, let go of what doesn't and find your content sweet spot where creating feels as comfortable as throwing on your favorite sweater. No more forcing yourself into someone else's content "uniform" or second-guessing every post. 🙅♀️
Truth about connection that most content advice misses? Everything you create and share is an invitation to connect. That's the whole point—to connect with the right people and share work that's meaningful to you and helpful to them.
But here's the challenge we're all facing:
Every business, every industry, every creative is posting content
Much of it is what my friend Jay Acunzo calls "commodity content"—watered down, stale, lacking depth
People chase virality instead of resonance
The result? Content that falls flat because it's uninspired and lacks substance
You can't create meaningful connections if you're not being true to yourself. Forget about what you think you should talk about and start focusing on what you actually care about. When we truly connect with what we're saying, our people do too. That depth and passion is felt.
Finding Your Natural Conversation Territory
The first step in finding your sustainable content rhythm is mapping what conversation you're naturally meant to lead. Not what you think you should talk about, but what lights you up AND serves your community.
Here's how to discover it:
Create Your Connection Map
Grab a sheet of paper and create two columns.
One side: List the things you care about
Other side: List the things your audience cares about
Go Deeper and Ask Why
For each item on both sides, ask:
Why do you care about these topics?
Why do they care?
What are the underlying motivations and emotions?
What's the golden thread that connects you both?
Look for Patterns
Review your:
Published posts archive
Notes and social media posts
Product descriptions
Recent conversations
Consider:
What problems do you keep solving?
What advice do you naturally give?
What topics make you lose track of time?
What questions do people always ask you?
Find Your Sweet Spot
Where do your passions overlap with your audience's needs?
What themes emerge that you could explore endlessly?
Which topics allow you to share both expertise and enthusiasm?
Create a list of topics you could develop.
The goal isn't to create content that checks boxes—it's to identify conversations you can lead while serving your community. When you find this intersection, showing up becomes energizing rather than exhausting.
